Engineer - Workshop Leading Hand

Location: Albany Workshop, Auckland
Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday to Friday)
Reports to: General Manager
Salary: $90K

Are you ready to take on a leadership role in a dynamic and thriving workshop environment? My client is looking for a dedicated and hands-on Workshop Leading Hand to join their team in Auckland!

About the Role:
As a Workshop Leading Hand, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of their workshop. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you’ll serve as the vital link between the sales and management team and the workshop, ensuring the manufacture, servicing, and timely delivery of pump sets to their valued customers.
Your primary focus will be to oversee the production of high-quality pumps, manage a small team, and ensure jobs are completed on time and to the highest standard. You will also be responsible for preparing accurate quotations and ensuring a safe, efficient workflow in the workshop.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safety First: Ensure all operations are conducted in a safe manner, maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
• Workshop Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the efforts of two other workshop staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standard.
• Hands-On Work: Build and service pumps and pump sets, overseeing all technical aspects of the process.
• Effective Planning: Review plans and specifications, help plan job timelines, and ensure customer expectations are met by delivering quality products on time.
• Customer Satisfaction: Identify and implement reliable solutions to meet customer needs, ensuring complete satisfaction throughout the manufacturing and service process.
• Quotation Preparation: Prepare accurate repair and servicing quotes, ensuring clarity and precision for our clients.

• Technical Expertise: A trade qualification with strong mechanical and engineering knowledge is essential.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a small team while ensuring efficient work practices.
• Problem-Solving: Strong ability to identify and solve issues, ensuring smooth workflow and timely job completion.
