Fire Alarm Technician – Opportunities in Otago
 
 
We are looking for Experienced Fire Alarm Technicians with background knowledge and experience with the following (but are not limited to):

• Installation of fire alarm systems in various buildings including mounting alarms, detectors, control panels and other components
• Inspection and testing of fire alarm systems to ensure they are in working order and to diagnose faults
• Adjusting, repairing, and replacing worn and defective parts and wiring, and maintaining machines, equipment, components and instruments
• Reassembling, testing, operating and adjusting systems, equipment and components
• Routine maintenance to keep systems in good working condition
• Troubleshooting and repairs - ability to diagnose the problem and make necessary repairs or install replacements
• System Upgrades – ensuring existing systems are upgraded to meet current safety standards
• Code compliance - using correct operating procedures to prevent malfunctions and to ensure that fire alarm systems are installed and maintained in compliance with relevant codes
• Accurate record keeping – ensuring documentation is up to date and maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, maintenance activities and any repairs or upgrades made to systems

 
Ideally, you will be or have:

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience
• Trade qualifications preferred however scope and length of experience may substitute for the formal qualification
• Full NZ Drivers Licence
• At least 2 work references
• 100% commitment to Health & Safety
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test

Pay rates range from $30 - $40 per hour depending on experience.
