Hydro Excavation Operator

Tradestaff is looking for a full-time Hydro Excavation Operator to join a trusted client in the heart of Hawkes Bay!

You will be at the heart of essential operations handling hydro excavation and vacuum trucks to remove debris, maintain infrastructure and unearth underground facilities.

No experience? No worries! We also want to hear from you if you have heavy civil machine oeprating. 

Responsibilities:

• Operate hydro excavation and vacuum trucks to excavate and remove earth (e.g. soil mud and debris), non-destructive digging and locate underground utilities
• Transport and dispose of waste
• Inspect, maintain and troubleshoot equipment & ensure the truck is fully utilized whenever possible
• Effective communication with colleagues, supervisors and clients
• Manage job bookings with team leaders and stakeholders

 
Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience operating a hydro truck OR heavy trucks in civil construction
• Full class 1 & 4 drivers license with your dangerous goods endorsement
• Understanding & hand on experience of electrical and mechanical systems including pumps, valves and controls
• Excellent troubleshooting & problem-solving abilities

 
Benefits:

• Competitive weekly pay- starting rate of $30.00 p/h
