Are you an experienced coatings applicator, waterblaster, or abrasive blaster with leadership potential? Tradestaff Wellington is looking for a Team Lead to guide on-site teams, manage job requirements, and ensure top-tier service delivery. Role Overview: As Team Lead, you'll supervise and work closely with on-site teams, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Your responsibilities will include liaising with clients, managing materials and equipment, and maintaining smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage teams for coatings application, waterblasting (low to ultrahigh pressure), and abrasive blasting.
  • Ensure job sites are prepared with the right materials and equipment.
  • Oversee industrial painting, sandblasting, and surface preparation.
  • Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients while ensuring service excellence.
  • Comply with all safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate job records, including batch numbers, time sheets, and weather conditions.
  • Keep work areas professional and organized, ensuring vehicle and equipment upkeep.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Proven experience in coatings application, waterblasting, or abrasive blasting (leadership experience a bonus).
  • Strong technical knowledge of spray units, pressure pots, compressors, and other industry equipment.
  • Ability to manage, plan, and execute on-site projects.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with clients and team members.
  • Physically fit and able to work in heights, confined spaces, and challenging conditions.
  • Full driver’s licence (Class 2 or truck licence is an advantage).
  • Relevant certifications (Confined Space, Site Safe, Health & Safety compliance), or willingness to obtain.

  • Will pass a pre employment drug and alcohol test.
