Looking for work to get you through the Festive Season? Are you a skilled painter with 5 or more years of experience? Look no further! Tradestaff is currently seeking detail-orientated painters to join the Hawkes Bay team during summertime!

Responsibilities:

• Surface Preparation: Thoroughly prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming as needed.
• Colour Matching and Mixing: Selecting and mixing paint colours to match specification provided by clients or designers. This requires an understanding of colour theory and the ability to create custom shades when necessary.
• Paint Application: Applying paint using various techniques such as brushing, rolling or spraying, depending on the surface and desired finish.
• Detail work: Performing detailed work such as cutting in edges, painting trim, and creating crisp lines between different colours or surfaces.
• Special Finishes: Applying special finishes such as faux finishes, texture coatings, or decorative effects to enhance the aesthetic appeal of surfaces. You will be proficient in using techniques such as stippling, ragging, or sponging.

Requirements:

• Valid work visa (if applicable) or the rights to work in New Zealand
• Have gained a Level 4 National Certificate in Painting and Decorating, or a proven 5+ years of professional painting experience
• Minimum restricted license and your own transport is a MUST
• High attention to detail and quality control
• Be willing to undergo and pass a pre-employment drug test if necessary
• Strong work ethic and punctuality
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
