Quantity Surveyor

Experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator. 
 
We have a client seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to assist with their expanding businesses and to help manage their current and future projects across Dunedin and Christchurch.  

We would also consider junior applicants for the right fit. Our client is looking for someone to take on permanently. 

This role is based in Dunedin. 



Duties:

• Analysis of project documents, blueprints and plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project.
• Preparing material, labour and cost estimates.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with vendors and contractors.
• Managing bids from vendors and contractors.
• Using bid data to prepare detailed cost analysis.
• Presenting prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders.
• Compiling and recording actual costs.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Tertiary level qualification (Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Estimation or Contract Management desirable).
• Ideally 5+ years of experience in your specialist field.
• Experience in estimating/pricing within specific industries.
• Understanding of contract law and conditions.
• Expertise in cost estimation to calculate the financial impact of variations 
• Strong communication skills to effectively negotiate with contractors and clients regarding variations

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and comfortable presenting to groups.
• Results-driven, task-orientated and highly self-motivated.
