Key Responsibilities:

• Expert Forklift Operation: Safely and efficiently operate forklifts to move, load, and unload timber and raw materials throughout the sawmill, ensuring all movements are precise and secure.
• Material Handling: Organize and transport timber from processing areas to storage and dispatch zones, keeping production and dispatch running smoothly.
• Inventory & Stock Management: Work closely with yard supervisors to ensure that all stock is handled correctly, and placed in the right areas, assisting in maintaining accurate inventory levels.
• Machine & Equipment Care: Perform regular forklift safety checks and basic maintenance, ensuring your equipment operates efficiently and adheres to all health and safety guidelines.
• Contribute to Production: Collaborate with production teams to ensure materials are moved on time, minimizing downtime and ensuring an efficient workflow.
• Safety First: Maintain a strong commitment to health and safety standards, especially in a high-energy, industrial environment. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and the ability to pass a drug & alcohol test.

What We’re Looking For:

• Industry-Specific Experience: At least 2+ years of experience operating forklifts in a sawmill or timber yard environment. Your experience with timber products and raw materials handling is highly valued.
• Current Forklift License: A valid forklift certification is required, along with a proven track record of safe forklift operation in industrial settings.
• Reliability & Work Ethic: We need someone who is reliable, punctual, and committed to the team’s success. A strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.
• Problem Solver & Adaptable: Ability to think on your feet and adapt to changing conditions in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility and a willingness to jump in wherever needed are key.
• Health & Safety Conscious: Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test and demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety at all times.
