We are seeking a Workshop Manager to lead and oversee the maintenance and fitting operations within our large manufacturing facility. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a background in maintenance fitting, who thrives in a hands-on environment and is passionate about coaching and mentoring staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the workshop's daily activities, ensuring the maintenance team operates efficiently, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

- Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of maintenance fitters and workshop staff, providing guidance to ensure high standards of performance, safety, and productivity.
- Develop training programs for team members to improve technical skills and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Motivate and inspire staff to maintain high levels of engagement, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Maintenance Management:
- Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations, ensuring timely and effective repairs and maintenance of machinery, equipment, and systems.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and industry regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all staff.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules, troubleshooting strategies, and preventive maintenance plans to minimize downtime and maximize equipment longevity.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, cost-saving measures, and operational efficiency enhancements within the workshop.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the maintenance needs of the facility are met and aligned with production goals.
- Resource & Equipment Management:
- Manage workshop resources, including tools, parts, and equipment, ensuring proper inventory control and cost-effective procurement.
- Maintain accurate records of work orders.
- Health & Safety:
- Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with company health and safety standards, conducting regular risk assessments and safety audits.
- Lead by example, promoting a culture of safety and encouraging best practices across the team.
- Reporting & Administration:
- Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of maintenance activities, performance metrics, and any operational challenges.
- Oversee the completion of required documentation, ensuring records are maintained.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in maintenance fitting, preferably within a large manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as troubleshooting and repair procedures.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role is preferred.
- Skills:
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of maintenance management software and systems is advantageous.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a diverse team.
- Qualifications:
- Relevant technical qualifications in maintenance fitting, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
