Fitter (General)

Tradestaff Rotorua are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter join us for an immediate start!

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter or similar role.
• Proficiency in mechanical systems, including hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to perform repairs independently.
• Familiarity with industrial equipment and machinery.
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
• Excellent physical condition and stamina.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Certification from a vocational school or apprenticeship is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting routine maintenance procedures on machinery and equipment.
• Inspecting machines, engines, transmissions etc. and identifying any issues.
• Repairing faulty equipment units and systems.
• Performing preventive maintenance tasks to ensure machinery operates smoothly.
• Assembling and disassembling machinery parts as needed.
• Adhering to safety and health regulations and maintaining a clean work environment.
• Collaborating with other maintenance staff to diagnose complex problems.
• Reporting to Maintenance Manager regarding issues and progress.

Successful applicants must:

• Pass a pre-employment drug test
• Have 2 ready work references
• Have your own vehicle with a restricted or full license

You may also be required to submit a criminal history check with the Ministry of Justice.

Please note that our work is mainly industrial and therefore for Health and Safety reasons you do need a good command of English.
