Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all health and safety information is included in contracts, service level agreements, and tendering processes.
- Administer and maintain contractor information regarding health and safety, ensuring selected contractors are approved and hold necessary qualifications and insurance.
- Review and acquire relevant qualification evidence (e.g., licenses, height certifications) for personnel before they commence work on-site.
- Evaluate risks associated with contractor activities and implement controls to eliminate or minimise those risks prior to the commencement of work and throughout the contract's duration.
- Inform contractors of site-specific hazards and risks relevant to their work area.
- Coordinate contractor activities with other workers and PCBUs to foster consultation and cooperation.
- Conduct site inductions for contractors prior to work starting.
- Manage, implement, review, and audit project safety plans as required.
- Monitor contractor performance by reviewing work in progress and addressing any substandard performance issues promptly.
- Ensure all contractor event reporting is completed accurately, investigating incidents as appropriate.
- Conduct physical inspections of work sites and document performance evaluations.
- Ensure that any notifiable events are reported promptly to the required authorities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in health and safety management, particularly in a contractor management context.
- Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications in health and safety management - preferred but not essential.
